Berlin-Gropius City in the record summer of 2003: the parks stink of dog shit, broken glass everywhere, dealers in the corners. Whoever lives here is either a gangster or a victim. Lukas (Levy Rico Arcos), Gino (Rafael Luis Klein-Heßling) and Julius (Vincent Wiemer) are such victims. No money for the swimming pool, no luck in love and nothing but stress at home. When they want to buy weed in the park, they get caught between rival dealers.

The film is set in Damascus in spring 2013.

Husam is an ordinary Syrian soldier. He fights alongside the dictator and has been in national service for three years. Husam hasn‘t been home for eight months. After his military regiment was ordered to move to Aleppo (which often means death at that time of the war), Husam bribes his officer to grant him a 24-hour leave to go and visit his family in Damascus. Husam wants to use this short leave to escape military service, but he could not do so without the support of his Mother.
